Select your dates
Choose the dates you'd like to hire your item and complete your booking online. Once your order is confirmed, we reserve the piece exclusively for you.

Choose pickup or postage
South Yarra pickup: we'll contact you with pickup details closer to your date, freshly cleaned and steamed. Express postage: we'll send your order via Australia Post Express, shipping added separately at checkout.

Pickup orders: return on the agreed date. Posted orders: place the garment back into the provided return satchel and lodge it with Australia Post on your return date.

Why hire instead of buy?
You get to enjoy designer and statement pieces for a fraction of the retail price. Hire Aura lets you wear something special without the commitment of buying an outfit you may only wear once.
How does dress hire work?
Browse our collection, select your preferred rental dates, complete your booking, and we'll organise pickup or express postage. Once you've worn your piece, simply return it by the agreed date.
How long is the rental period?
Prices stated are per one day, with the exception of weekend rentals extending over Friday to Monday. Rental dates and return instructions are confirmed at the time of booking.
Do I need to clean the garment before returning it?
No. Please do not wash, dry clean, steam or alter the garment. Hire Aura takes care of all cleaning and maintenance after each hire.
Is a bond required?
Yes. A refundable security bond is required depending on the item hired. The bond is returned once the garment has been inspected and confirmed returned on time and in its original condition.
What happens if I return an item late?
Late fees may apply to ensure availability for future bookings. Please contact us as soon as possible if you're unable to return your item on time.
What if I damage the garment?
Minor wear can happen and is expected. Significant damage, stains, alterations, or loss of the garment may result in repair costs, bond deductions, or replacement charges.
What if the dress doesn't fit?
As we don't currently offer try-ons, we recommend reviewing brand measurements, sizing information and fit details before booking. Refunds cannot be provided for incorrect sizing selections.
Do you offer try-ons?
Not at this stage. If you're unsure about sizing and fit, please contact us for assistance.
Where are you located?
Hire Aura is based in South Yarra, Melbourne (3141), offering nationwide shipping via AusPost Express.
Do you offer postage?
Yes. We offer express postage Australia-wide. Postage costs are calculated separately from the rental fee.
How do returns work for posted hires?
You'll receive a prepaid return satchel with your delivery. Garments must be lodged with Australia Post by the specified return date.
Can I cancel my booking?
Bookings cancelled more than 7 days before the rental start date may be eligible for store credit. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay and Klarna.
How often are garments cleaned?
Every garment is professionally cleaned or carefully maintained between each hire to ensure it arrives in excellent condition.
Can I hire multiple items at once?
Absolutely. You can hire multiple pieces to create your perfect event look.
The fine print
Terms & conditions
1. Bookings & Payments
- All bookings are made via the online booking system at www.rent.hireaurafits.com.
- We operate strictly on a first-come, first-served basis — bookings are confirmed once full payment and bond are received.
- For security reasons, you'll need to provide a form of identification (driver's licence / passport) when hiring an item.
- Each garment is carefully cleaned and maintained; please note general wear and tear may occur.
- Payment methods accepted: major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay and Klarna.
- Prices are fixed and non-negotiable.
- Cleaning fee is included in the rental price — do not attempt to clean the product yourself.
- Prices listed are for a 1-day hire unless otherwise stated.
- Weekend hires extend to Friday–Monday to accommodate postal delivery schedules.
2. Bond / Security Deposit
- A refundable security bond depending on item value is required for all hires.
- The bond is refunded once the item is returned on time and in its original condition.
- Hire Aura reserves the right to deduct from or retain the bond if the item is returned late, damaged, permanently stained, or unwearable.
3. Pick-Up & Postage
- Pick-up available from South Yarra, Melbourne (exact address provided after booking).
- Postal hire available Australia-wide via AusPost Express.
- Return postage must be sent via Express Post by the next business day after your event, using the provided prepaid satchel. All parcels must be returned directly to the post office counter — not deposited in a postal bin.
- The customer is responsible for tracking and ensuring the parcel is lodged on time.
- Late returns may incur a $25/day late fee, deducted from the bond.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellations made 7+ days before the hire date are eligible for a credit (valid for 6 months).
- Cancellations within 7 days of the hire date are non-refundable as the piece has been reserved.
- If your event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, contact us — we'll do our best to work with you.
5. Damage, Stains & Loss
- Customers must not attempt cleaning or repairs.
- Minor wear is expected, but significant damage (rips, burns, heavy stains, alterations) may result in additional fees or full replacement cost. Please be mindful of fake tan and make-up; garment glue or tape is prohibited.
- If the item is lost or irreparably damaged, the customer agrees to pay the full RRP of the garment minus the hire fee and bond.
- Hire Aura reserves the right to withhold the bond until the item has been assessed after cleaning.
6. Cleaning
- Hire Aura handles all cleaning and maintenance of garments.
- Do not wash, dry clean, or spot-clean any item yourself.
7. Fit & Sizing
- Please refer to brand size charts and provided garment info before booking. Contact us if you're unsure about size or fit.
- Try-ons are not available at this stage.
- Refunds are not provided for incorrect sizing or change of mind.
8. Photos & Social Media
- Hire Aura may repost customer photos and tags on social media unless otherwise requested.
- If you prefer your images not to be shared, please notify us at the time of booking.
9. Liability
- Hire Aura is not responsible for postal delays, lost parcels due to incorrect addresses, or damage caused by postal handling.
- By hiring an item, you agree to these terms and accept full responsibility for the garment while it's in your care.
